Description

Chemin-a-haut State Park is located on a high bluff overlooking the Bartholomew Bayou in Louisiana. The 503-acre park of well preserved beauty was designed with children in mind. There are two playgrounds and a wading pool for kids. The site also includes a picnic area with 35 family picnic areas and a few group sites and shelters. The park offers lovely high view of the banks of Bayou Bartholomew. There is also the Big Slough Lake on the property for fishing. Cabins are available for renting, complete with appliances and dinnerware.

Chemin-a-haut has three popular trails for hiking. The Bobcat Trail is 1.1 miles, the Boy Scout Trail is .25 miles and the equestrian trails is 8 miles.

Directions

The park is located about 10 miles north of Bastrop. From Monroe, take either US 165 or LA 139 north to Bastrop. From Bastrop, Take US 425 north to LA 1257 (Loop Park Road). <br /><br />14656 State Park Road, Bastrop, LA
